GEO Weekly Bulletin - 9/19/22
Check out this week's GEO Bulletin to stay up-to-date on what's happening! This week includes fun things to do, including the international buddy program and a hike this week, plus other upcoming deadlines and events!
Sign Up to be an International Buddy!
Are you an SSU student interested in having an International Buddy/Conversation Partner? We have international students on campus, including students who are here just to learn English, and we like to pair them with SSU students to help them build community at SSU, transition to life in the US, and for some, improve their English! To be a Buddy, you just have to meet with them once a week or so. To submit your application as a U.S. Buddy, please click here!
Coffee & Culture Recap
Last week, IEEC had their first Coffee & Culture of the semester! This was a fall-themed event where we got to know some of the international students studying at SSU, as well as local students interested in studying abroad. We talked about classroom culture from all around the world, as well as sampled a few snacks.
Taylor Mountain Hike THIS WEEK!
Join the IEEC on a trip to Taylor Mountain at 4pm! Get to know another part of Sonoma County as we go hiking and watch the sunset. We will be organizing a rideshare, so make sure you sign up before September 22nd! We are looking for both drivers and passengers! Attendees who sign up by the deadline will be emailed with additional information prior to the event.
Coffee & Culture Next Week
Come hang out with IEEC for their second Coffee & Culture of the semester! This is a fall-themed event where you can get to know some of the international students studying at SSU, as well as local students interested in studying away. We will also be talking about countries' special days from around the world. Be sure to stop by and meet the other students.
