Spring International Welcome Reception Recap

On Thursday the 2nd, we held our first event of the semester, the International Welcome Reception. During this event, we welcomed new international students as well as returning study away students. The event was the perfect opportunity to meet new people, share experiences, and learn about studying away!

 

Coffee & Culture: UK Themed Recap

The IEEC held its first Coffee & Culture of the semester last week! These study away location-themed Coffee & Cultures will take place every week and are an opportunity for international students and anyone interested in studying away to meet and share experiences. This week we discussed the UK and enjoyed some tea and biscuits.

 

Coffee & Culture This Week: France!
Thursday, February 16 from 12-1PM in International Hall 107

Join us on Thursday, February 16 for our next Coffee & Culture of the semester, France! We will have some French-themed treats and those who are from France, studied abroad in France, or are interested in France will be our special guests! Meet new people, share experiences, and learn about different cultures! All are welcome. Watch out for Coffee & Culture next week, the US & Canada!

 

IEEC Goes to the Barlow This Week!
Friday, February 17, meet at 5PM

Join the IEEC at the Barlow in Sebastopol on Friday the 17th! Be sure to sign up to participate and be notified of additional information prior to the event! Follow us on Instagram @ssustudyaway to stay up-to-date on all our upcoming events!

Join the IEEC for an evening of food, drinks, desserts and fun! Meet new people, or bring your friends to enjoy activities, good food and company!

 

Scholarship Winner Highlight

Congratulations to Wesley Hamilton, the Awardee of the JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) Scholarship! Wesley is studying at the Niigata University in Japan for the 2022-23 academic year and is the first SSU student to study in this location!

 

Upcoming Study Away Deadlines!

Interested in studying in another state or country? There are lots of deadlines coming up between February 15 and March 30, so don’t miss out! Take classes that will help you graduate, pay SSU tuition, and use your financial aid while studying away! There’s no reason not to go! For more information about Study Away programs, visit international.sonoma.edu and get started by watching the Information Meeting!

 

Study Away Program Highlight: Shakespeare in London Summer 2023

Interested in Theatre, Shakespeare, or English Literature? Apply to Shakespeare in London for Summer 2023 (THAR 300) by the 15th of February! This program is open to everyone and you will receive upper-division GE (Arts and Humanities/Area C) credit for participating! Students will see various Shakespeare productions including at the Globe Theatre!
