The Sonoma State International Student Buddy program is designed to help international students attending Sonoma State with their transition to a new country and culture.
The program pairs a current SSU student (U.S. Buddy) with a new international student (International Buddy). U.S. buddies help their international buddies through the transition into Sonoma State and California culture. In exchange, U.S. buddies gain insights into other cultures. Many of our Buddies establish friendships that last beyond their time at Sonoma State.
The commitment is just one hour a week for the duration of the semester.
We encourage our buddies to try to attend at least some campus events. Our International Education Exchange Council (IEEC) hosts events almost every week!
