Boren Scholarship Due
Due January 29th
The deadline for the Boren scholarship is coming up! Be sure to have all your i’s are dotted and your t’s are crossed to ensure you have the best chance of being selected. If you’re going to a country of interest to the US government, this scholarship is a great opportunity to strengthen your connections and allow you to immerse yourself in other communities and cultures. Spring Club Fair
Wednesday, January 29th, 11 AM-1 PM at the Seawolf Plaza
Interested in seeing what Sonoma has to offer for extracurriculars? Come on by the Spring Club Fair next week and browse the tables to see what perks your interest! With over 100 recognized student organizations, there is bound to be something for everyone! Joining a club is also the perfect way to make new friends in this new year! IEEC (SSU’s global club) will be there as well, so swing by to see our table and say hi!
Welcome Reception
Thursday, January 30th, 12-1 PM at the International Hall 107
Join us next Thursday for this semester's Welcome Reception! We will be welcoming everyone, new and old, to Sonoma State. There will be a photo contest and food, so make sure you swing by! To recent study abroad alumni, be sure to submit your photos for the contest before midnight on Wednesday! (The deadline has been extended!) Check your email for instructions.
SSU Scholarship Application
Application Due February 1st
If you are interested in applying for a scholarship from SSU, be sure to have everything submitted by February 1st! Everybody is welcome to apply for these scholarships as long as a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA is held, and these scholarships can be used while participating in most SSU study away programs! Returnee Workshop
Tuesday, February 4th from 12-1 pm
Have you just returned from studying away? Our Returnee Workshop is a great chance to see everybody back at Sonoma and ensure a smooth transition into campus life. It will be held at IH107 on February 4th from 12 to 1 PM and is a fantastic way to meet other students who have also traveled recently!
Fund for Education Abroad Scholarship
Application Due February 5th
If you are studying abroad and looking for scholarship opportunities, then this may be the one for you! With one application opening doors to many different scholarships, the Fund for Education Abroad is a great way to explore your options. Applications are due on February 5th, so be sure to submit everything on time! More information can be found on the Fund for Education Abroad Website.
CSUIP Priority and NSE Preferred Deadlines
Applications due February 15th
Applying to study away for next year or next semester? Possibly considering enrolling in the National Student Exchange, our program to study away within the US or Canada with over 160 partner universities, or the California State University International Program, our primary study abroad program? Both options offer unique opportunities for academic and cultural experiences. Each program provides a chance to study at different institutions, either within the U.S. or abroad. Application deadlines are coming up, so be sure to submit your application by Feb. 15th to ensure your application is received! Application Workshops
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, from January 27th to February 13th
Do you need some time or space to work on your application? If you have questions about the process or simply want someone to look it over, these workshops are a great way to do that! You can drop into IH107 from 12 PM to 1 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. As we have some events already planned during that time slot, please check our GEO calendar to ensure that the workshop is happening instead of another event! We look forward to seeing you!
Psychology in Ireland Info Meeting
Wednesday, February 5th, 12-1pm at IH107
Interested in Studying Away and are looking for a shorter session? Take Psychology 322: Myth, Dream, and Symbol in Ireland! Explore the inner world of the unconscious, while staying in the picturesque Irish Countryside. The course will draw from contemporary dream research, Jungian dreamwork, and employ methods of dream incubation (asking specific questions of our dreams) to work with the creative and integrative potential of the dreaming mind. Interested yet? Come to International Hall 107 for the information meeting to see what exactly this program has to offer!
