International Education Week Recap

International Education Week is over and we’d like to thank everyone who joined us for the virtual events! There were a lot of great forums and we were able to learn from our international students. The study abroad fair was also a lot of fun and it was nice to interact with everyone who came by to ask questions and learn more about studying away. 

 

IEEC Friendsgiving Recap

Thank you to everyone who came and joined the IEEC for our Friendsgiving on 11/19. We had an amazing time learning about everyone’s favorite holiday dishes, cultural practices, and even got to try out some fun party games.

Celebrate the end of the semester with a trip to Snoopy’s Ice Skating Rink! The IEEC will be making a trip to Santa Rosa to ice skate, drink coco, and take a breather before finals. Make sure to sign up by 12/1!

Apply to Teach English In Austria

Fulbright is offering a year-long paid position to recent graduates who are interested in teaching English in Austria! If you’re graduating in Spring 22 or earlier, and have completed a few German courses, this could be a great opportunity to earn some teaching experience abroad! You will have the option of working at a secondary school in any of the nine Austrian provinces. Don’t miss out, apply before the deadline!

Study Abroad for Fall 2022

Applications are beginning to open for Fall 2022 study away sessions so now is the perfect time to take a look at where you’d like to study away. There are programs for the semester or the year in dozens of exciting locations. SSU study away programs offer affordable programs that allow you to use your SSU financial aid, so make sure you take advantage of everything they have to offer! If you have any questions or want to learn more about the study away application process, please visit the Global Engagement Office website and we will be happy to help you! 

 

Tip of the Week: Apply for the Winter Intersession Scholarship

Winter Intersession is a great time to take GE classes in both the upper and lower divisions. It is also a great way to graduate faster! If you’re interested in taking one of these classes but are worried about financial aid, don’t worry; there are scholarships available! You are able to apply for a $500 scholarship to help with tuition and fees. Make sure to apply as soon as possible as applications are due by 11:59 PM on November 29th.
