Dive into the heart of human rights in the nation’s capital with Sonoma State University’s Human Rights in Washington, D.C. summer program. Over eight days, students will explore key historical sites, including the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and the U.S. Capitol. Engaging with nonprofit organizations, service-learning projects, and guided tours, participants will examine civil liberties, constitutional rights, and the historical foundations of justice in the United States. Stay in American University dorms, enjoy curated experiences, and take time to explore the monuments, museums, and vibrant neighborhoods of Washington, D.C., all while developing a deeper understanding of human rights in practice.

Tuition and fees: $1,245

Ground expenses include:
- Housing throughout the program (shared rooms in American University dorms)
- Any required on-site fees and cultural events
- 6 breakfasts and 2 dinners
What is not included: Round-trip flight, additional meals not included in the program, metro pass for transportation during program ($62.75), and additional personal expenses.
