Explore healthy aging and wellness in Japan while experiencing the culture and communities of Hokkaido! Based in Sapporo, this two-week faculty-led program examines how physical activity, social connection, community, environment, and culture contribute to health and well-being throughout the lifespan. Students will connect classroom learning with hands-on experiences through visits to Hokkaido University, community and senior-serving organizations, a service-learning experience, and activities such as Radio TaisÅ, while also exploring Japanese culture through visits to the Hokkaido Shrine, National Ainu Museum, Otaru, Jozankei Onsen, and the Hokkaido Shrine Festival. Through these academic, cultural, and community experiences, students will gain an international perspective on healthy aging while experiencing daily life in one of Japan's most distinctive regions.

Tuition and fees: $1,245

Program fee includes:
- Housing throughout the program
- 16 meals: 14 breakfasts and 2 dinners

What is not included in the program fee: Round-trip flight to Sapporo, Japan, additional meals not included in the program, and personal expenses.
