Exciting Academy of Sciences Adventure: A Day of Discovery and Exploration! 🌍✨

Get ready for an unforgettable journey into the heart of one of the world’s most fascinating natural history museums: the California Academy of Sciences! On this day trip, we’ll dive deep into the mysteries of our planet, our universe, and the creatures that inhabit it, while connecting with the core values of exploration, collaboration, and environmental inquiry.

We’ll start the day with an early morning meeting at Sonoma State University at 8 AM. After a scenic drive over the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, we’ll arrive at the Academy by 9:40 AM. Whether it’s exploring the living rainforest, marveling at the stunning aquarium, or learning about cutting-edge astronomical discoveries at the planetarium, there’s something for everyone!

At 1:30 pm, join us for an exclusive showing at the planetarium: Spark: The Universe Is in Us, where you’ll experience breathtaking visualizations of our universe and its profound connections to life on Earth. Afterward, you’ll have free time to grab lunch and explore the museum at your own pace.

At 5 pm, we’ll regroup outside for some final housekeeping of snapping photos, picking up souvenirs, and sharing the day’s highlights. Then, we’ll take a scenic route back to Sonoma State University, passing landmarks like Lombard Street, Pier 39, and Ghirardelli Square, with an estimated return time of around 7 pm.

What to Bring:

• Comfortable walking shoes – We’ll be exploring a lot!
• Lunch & snacks – If you prefer to bring your own, we’ll have coolers in the cars to keep everything fresh. (There’s also a cafeteria available at the Academy.)
• Water bottle – Stay hydrated!
• Layered clothing – San Francisco weather can be unpredictable, so be prepared for anything!
• Camera/phone – Capture the day’s highlights
• Sunscreen – Protect yourself
