Take a day hike to Salt Point State Park, a beautiful spot on Northern California's coast. This park has rocky cliffs, open meadows with wildflowers, and amazing views of the ocean. We'll walk along easy trails, enjoy the fresh sea air, and take in the natural beauty around us. An adventure great for beginners or anyone wanting a calm outdoor getaway. Looking forward to good times, stunning scenery, and plenty of chances to take great photos. Make some wonderful memories and a day you won't forget.
Here’s the scoop:
- Hiking Level: Beginner
- Trail Length: Approximately 2–4 miles round-trip
- Cost: $10 Members, $20 Non-Members
- Explore: Coastal bluffs, forested trails, and tide pools
- Optional: Pack a lunch to enjoy a picnic with a view
We’ll meet at the Rec Center at SSU at 8:00 AM, then head out in the Outdoor Pursuits van for a scenic drive to Salt Point. After a full day of exploring and relaxing, we’ll return to SSU by 3:00 PM.
What to bring
- ID/Wallet: Just in case
- Water: Stay hydrated on the trail
- Lunch & Snacks: Fuel up with your favorite trail bites
- Comfy Hiking Shoes: You’ll be walking over uneven terrain
- Warm Layers: Coastal weather can be unpredictable
- Camera/Phone: Snap pics of wildflowers, cliffs, and that ocean backdrop
- Sun Protection: Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are your best friends
- Day pack :To carry all your essentials comfortably
Transportation
We’ll be traveling together in the Outdoor Pursuits van, departing from and returning to SSU.
