Coffee & Culture: Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year

International Hall 107
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

We’re excited to kick off the new semester with a special celebration for the start of the Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year

This year, we’re welcoming the Year of the Snake, a symbol of wisdom, charm, and confidence. The Chinese New Year is a time for family reunions, honoring ancestors, and wishing for good fortune in the year ahead. It’s celebrated with vibrant traditions, including dragon dances, fireworks, red decorations for luck, and the giving of red envelopes filled with money (a symbol of good luck and prosperity).

So come celebrate with us and make lanterns! Food and drinks will be provided, and it’s a great way to spend your lunch hour, meet new friends, and learn about the rich traditions of the Chinese New Year!
