Coffee & Culture: Winter Olympics

It's the first Coffee & Culture of the semester! Join the IEEC this week for Coffee & Culture. The theme will be the upcoming Winter Olympic Games! As usual, there will be various snacks; hot chocolate, teas, and coffee. This is a great opportunity to ask alumni about their experiences abroad, meet new international students, and make new local friends.

Gilman Scholarship Workshops

Scholarship Deadline: March 5th, 2026

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program, administered by the U.S. Department of State, supports students with limited financial means to study or intern abroad, enhancing skills crucial for national security and economic prosperity. It is a competitive, merit-based scholarship available to Pell Grant recipients or those who will receive a Pell Grant during their term of study abroad. Join us to work on your scholarship application!

Upcoming Deadlines:

Fund for Education Abroad Scholarship

Through the generous support of Academic Travel Abroad (ATA), the Fund for Education Abroad was established in 2010 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization to address the need for an independent scholarship provider to enable more American college students to study abroad. Since 2010, FEA has awarded over $4.6 million in scholarships to 1369 undergraduates, helping students from all over the United States follow their dreams of studying abroad.

FEA remains the only national independent non-profit study abroad scholarship provider funded exclusively with philanthropic support. (FEA Site)

Upcoming Faculty-Led Program Deadlines

These immersive programs offer hands-on, experiential learning around the world, combining professional practicums, language and cultural study, service learning, and industry engagement. Students gain real-world experience in education, human rights, and global business through site visits, community partnerships, and academic exploration in locations such as Washington, D.C., and South America’s premier wine regions.

CSUIP Priority Application Deadline

The National Student Exchange (NSE) is an opportunity to study at another school within the US Territories and even Canada. It requires ranking 3–5 preferred host institutions. Submit your rankings by:

USAC Highlight: Scholarships!

Scholarships are offered for each of the geographic regions with USAC programs (Africa/Middle East, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania). All degree-seeking students with a minimum 2.5 GPA are eligible.

As a non-profit, university-based organization, we are committed to providing students with affordable and accessible opportunities to study abroad.

SSU Event Highlight: Movies with a Mission: 42

Get cozy and settle in for a movie night celebrating Black History Month, plus pre-movie speed trivia for the chance to win prizes & snacks! We will be playing the 2013 film 42 (PG-13). 42 is a biographical sports drama based on Jackie Robinson, the first black athlete to play in Major League Baseball.
