Coffee & Culture - France
Thursday, October 17th, 12-1pm
This Thursday is our next Coffee and Culture! This week our theme is France, we will have some very fun French-themed snacks (crepes!) for everybody! Come on by IH107 from 12-1pm, all are welcome! We look forward to seeing everybody! Coffee and Culture is a recurring event that IEEC holds every other Thursday so keep your eye out for the next theme!
Upcoming CSUIP Deadlines: University of Leeds, BSB, and Niigata University
Due October 15th
Last chance to decide if these study away locations are the one for you! The deadlines for the University of Leeds, Burgundy School of Business (BSB), and Niigata University are on October 15th! Feel free to reach out to the Global Engagement Office or Hope with any questions, in order to get those applications in on time!
Japanese Speech Contest
Speech Registration Deadline Extended to October 20!
We are getting closer to our Japanese Speech Contest! If you know some Japanese or if you simply want to test your knowledge, this could be the perfect event for you! Komaru-Koutsu Foundation and Fukuyama City University are partnering with Sonoma State University to host a Japanese Language Speech Competition. This competition allows participants to showcase their skills while also appreciating Japanese Culture. Speeches must be on the topic of transportation. The speech registration form can be found here! We look forward to hearing everybody’s speeches!
Fairfield-Osborn Preserve Trip
Deadline to sign up is Monday, November 4th.
Interested in seeing the natural wonders of Sonoma Mountain? Join IEEC on our tour of Sonoma State’s Fairfield-Osborn Preserve on Sunday, November 10th to see just what Sonoma County has to offer. This will be a day event so plan ahead for beautiful views, cool nature, and fun camaraderie! All are welcome and this event is FREE! If you are interested, make sure to sign up here, and tell your friends about this super cool trip happening right in our backyard!
SSU Event of the Week: Sonoma Film Institute Screening: Eight Men Out

Interested in movies based on truth? This movie is focused on the 1919 “Black Sox” Scandal of a baseball player playing dirty when low-balled by the boss and bribed by gangsters. John Sayles brings this story to our screens through his indie drama adaptation. Check out the trailer here!
