Coffee & Culture Recap: Spain!

The theme for Coffee & Culture this time was Spain! This time, we discussed Spanish culture, language, food and landscapes as well as study away opportunities in España! Those who have studied away in Spain, those interested in studying away in Spain and those interested in learning more about Spanish culture joined us to chat and share their experiences! Coffee & Culture events are held every Thursday, 12-1PM at International Hall 107 and are an opportunity for international students and anyone interested in studying away to meet and share experiences!

 

Coffee & Culture This Week: All Europe
Thursday, April 20, 12-1PM in International Hall 107

Want to learn about the study away opportunities in Europe or just want to chat and learn about the culture and landscapes of the European countries? Join us this week for the final Coffee & Culture of the semester, All Europe! Everyone is welcome to come hang out and talk about all the countries that make up Europe! IEEC Does Pickleball Recap!

Over the weekend, the IEEC held its Pickleball event! Beginners and long-time lovers of the sport joined to learn how to play the fastest growing sport in America from certified instructors! This was a great opportunity to spend some time outside with friends, meet new people, get up and move! All equipment and snacks were provided, and the group is planning to meet again and play more! 

 

IEEC Does Scandia!
Sunday, April 23rd at 5:30 (meet at flagpole on campus)

Join IEEC at Scandia! Scandia Family Fun Center is an amusement park located in Rohnert Park, offering mini-golf, batting cages and go-karts and an arcade and pizza counter! Bring your friends to navigate two award-winning 18 hole miniature golf courses featuring ponds, fountains and a variety of obstacles to overcome! Prices for mini golf is $12 per person, and other activities and arcade games range from $1-12! You can also buy as many arcade points as you would like. We will also be getting In ‘N Out after so come hang out! Sign up here!

 

Student Acceptance Highlight: Robyn Saatzer JET Acceptance!

Congratulations to Robyn Saatzer, study away Alum and current study away ambassador, for her acceptance to the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program! JET is the only teaching exchange program managed by the government of Japan and offers a unique cultural exchange opportunity to meet people from all over the world, living and working in Japan. SSU Event of the Week: Free Cooking Class: Cashew Chicken Stir-Fry
Wednesday, April 19, 3-4PM at the Kitchens

Try something new and sign up for a cooking class with Chef Don! Learn how to make Cashew Chicken Stir-fry and enjoy your creation too! In these classes, you will learn new techniques to help you in the kitchen all while having hands-on experience in a fun environment. Cooking classes happen at Chef’s demo kitchen in The Kitchens and are led by Executive Chef Don Cortes.
