IEEC Fundraiser

When: Friday, April 30th - ALL DAY!

Please join the International Education Exchange Council (IEEC) on April 30 for a Virtual Community Fundraiser with Panda Express! IEEC is an SSU student club focused on promoting and integrating international education and the international community on campus. With your Panda Express online (only) order, you will have the option to either pick up or receive delivery via the website or app. Simply apply the fundraiser code (903526) in the coupon code box and your order will be counted towards IEEC! All funds raised will be going towards the annual IEEC Study Away Scholarship. Here are instructions on how to order!


IEEC Study Away Scholarship

Deadline: Wednesday, May 5th, 2021

The student club, the International Education Exchange Council (IEEC), invites students who have been accepted to SSU study away programs for Fall 2021 and/or Spring 2022 to apply for their annual scholarship! One recipient will receive $400 to go towards their study away experience financing. This can help pay for your visa expenses or flight! We will be sharing the link soon to the application as soon as it opens, so be sure to watch for it!

 

International Education Celebration

When: May 13th, 12 pm -1 pm

We are hosting our annual International Education Celebration! This virtual celebration is where we celebrate all of the study away alumni who are graduating, the international and exchange students leaving Sonoma State University, and the departing students about to embark on their study away adventure! It is a fun event where you can stop by, say hello and goodbye! Be sure to register at the link above!

This year we will be putting on a special slide show highlighting our study away alumni and international students who are graduating. We invite you to complete this quick questionnaire so that you can have your own slide! All graduates who graduated last year or are graduating this spring, summer, or fall are welcome to participate! Please complete the online questionnaire by Thursday, May 6th in order to be included in the celebration.

Additionally, everyone who submits a questionnaire by May 6th will be entered into a raffle to win a free international graduation medallion!

Study Away Acceptance Highlight: Sabrina Blais

Study Away Location: University of Ghana, Accra, Ghana

Major: Biochemistry and Theatre Arts

Sabrina Blais is a Biochemistry and Theatre Arts major who will be studying away at the University of Ghana, Accra, Ghana for the 2021-2022 Academic Year! They are looking forward to seeing what Ghanaian food is like! Sabrina is also hoping to go to the local markets whenever they have the chance. Even though their biggest challenge would be adjusting into a different culture, they would still like to be immersed in the culture as much as they can. Huge congratulations to Sabrina!!!

Business students planning on studying away are welcome to drop in for this special advising session with Hope Ortiz and the Business Department Chair, Sergio Canavati De La Torre! This is the perfect opportunity to have your questions answered about studying away as a Business major or minor and what classes you should take!
