National Student Exchange Road Trip After Party

Join the Global Engagement Office and IEEC for a virtual road trip across the USA! Follow us on Instagram as we explore the universities available for study away through the National Student Exchange program. Locations include different states and territories, including Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands! After the road trip we will be having a Zoom After Party where you can ask questions about studying away and learn more about the different locations available!

For Juniors and Seniors, graduation may still seem like a long way off, but now is a great time to start exploring your options! Whether you know exactly what you want to do or are still figuring it out, why not spend the year after you graduate abroad?! Fulbright is a U.S. Government-sponsored program that provides recent graduates with the opportunity to study or teach English all around the world. The Global Engagement Office is partnering with the Institute for International Education to bring you an Information Session on Fulbright and the Application Process. Join us to learn more! Applications are now open for students who are interested in applying for the 2022-23 academic year and the SSU campus deadline is September 15, so now is the perfect time to get started!

Are you looking for a new hobby or a way to meet new friends virtually? Are you a fan of anime or accounting and are looking for a group of students with similar interests? Student Involvement is putting together a Virtual Club Fest where you can learn about all the different clubs and organizations that are a part of SSU! Log in on Monday, March 8th from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM to learn more about the event. Stop by to learn more about how you can get involved on campus, and for a chance to win a Sonoma Swag pack! SSU International Education Exchange Council will also be tabling during these times so be sure to stop by!!!  

 

Direct Exchange Programs

Direct Exchange Programs are Sonoma State University partnerships with foreign universities that allow us to exchange students as part of their undergraduate or graduate degree. Sonoma State students will continue to pay home university tuition and fees while on the program. Click here to take a look at our study away programs!!!

Burgundy School of Business - France 

One of the best business schools in France, Burgundy School of Business is a human-sized school, known for its student support and unique teaching methods. Located in the city centers of Dijon and Lyon, both are accessible by public transport or on foot and are close to all amenities. Shops, restaurants, and bars, museums, parks, sports clubs, libraries… coming to BSB is more than a simple semester abroad. It is a unique experience of life in BSB, in France, in the heart of Burgundy, in Dijon and Lyon. Located roughly 2 hours by train from Paris, the cities of Dijon and Lyon are among the most dynamic metropolitan areas in France, only a few hours from the major European capitals.

Niigata University- Japan

Spend a year studying at Niigata University in Northern Japan! Niigata University has a long institutional history, with origins going back some 150 years. Located in Niigata City, facing the Sea of Japan, Niigata University acts as a gateway to the world with its base in Asia, and will continue to elevate its presence to be world-leading and world-changing.

Teaching Assistant Program in France | French Culture

Applications for the 2021-2022 school year are now closed. Applications for 2022-2023 will open on tapif.org in mid-October 2021.

The Teaching Assistant Program in France offers you the opportunity to work in France for 7 months, teaching English to French students of all ages. Each year, over 1,500 American citizens and permanent residents teach in public schools across all regions of metropolitan France and in the overseas departments of France such as French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Réunion. The American cohort is part of the larger Assistants de langue en France program, which recruits 4,500 young educators from 60 countries to teach 15 languages annually in France. The Assistants de langue en France program is managed by France Éducation international.

 

Scholarship: The Joel Garcia Memorial Scholarships

The Joel Garcia Memorial Scholarships are awarded annually to qualified Latino students who are planning to pursue a career in journalism. The scholarships, which range from $500 to $2,000 per student, are based on several criteria including commitment to the field of journalism, school achievements, community awareness, and financial need. Students must be enrolled full-time for the entire academic year and must be a California resident or attend an accredited college or university in California. Open to graduate students as well!!!
