IEEC Hangout Recap

"Spring Soirée” was an enchanting evening brimming with music, dancing, and unforgettable moments! From electrifying dance moves to soaring high notes, the event was an absolute blast. Our fiercest competitors battled it out in larger-than-life Jenga, while show and tell unveiled everyone's unique spirit animal. Collaborating with the German Club made this joint event a delightful and memorable occasion, creating a wonderful blend of cultures. Here's to more joyful events!

 

Coffee & Culture: Europe Recap

At last week's Coffee & Culture, the air was buzzing with excitement as future study abroad and international students gathered together. A variety of topics surrounding their experiences living and traveling abroad sparked lively discussions, fueled by enthusiasm and curiosity. From sharing tips on navigating European cities to discussing future endeavors, the energy in the room was radiating. Here's to the exciting adventures that lie ahead! CSU IP April 15 Deadline

Attention all interested study abroad applicants! It’s still not too late! Don't miss out on the opportunity to study abroad with the CSU IP program. Exciting opportunities await in Germany, Ghana, South Africa, Spain, and France: Aix-provence. The deadline for CSU IP program applications is April 15, and time is running out. This week is your last chance to finalize and submit your application! all necessary documents. Stop by the office or email hope.ortiz@sonoma.edu to get help! 

 

IEEC Study Away Scholarship Application Open

Support your study abroad adventure with the IEEC Study Away scholarship! This annual essay competition offers a $300 boost to help you explore new cultures and seize exciting opportunities. Open to all prospective study away students, including those in the National Student Exchange program, it's your chance to broaden your horizons. Simply maintain a 2.50 GPA, be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours (undergraduate) at Sonoma State University, and attend one IEEC event to qualify. Don't miss out and submit your application by April 25, and we'll announce the winner on April 30.

 

Graduation Medallions Now on Sale!

Interested in proudly showing your global accomplishments at graduation? The IEEC club is now selling graduation medallions for $15 up until the Global Engagement Office’s Global Goodbye Gathering on Thursday, May 9, after which they will be sold for  $20. Supplies are limited, so don’t miss out and get your medallion today! Funds raised will go towards the events organized by IEEC and the annual IEEC study away scholarship.

 

Program Highlight of the Week: CSU IP Ghana

If you have not considered studying abroad in Ghana, then you are missing out on an amazing opportunity to study in a culturally enriching English-speaking country! Almost all majors are available at the University of Ghana in the capitalal city of Accra, and this program is particularly well suited for health oriented careers. There are also great service learning opportunities for students who go for the year, though both Fall-only and Spring-only semesters are available as well. Plus, this is one of the most affordable locations in the world - rent for the entire semester is only around $1,000! Be sure to check it and apply by April 15! 

 

SSU Event of the Week: Associated Students Productions Presents: Boards & Brews - Global Game Edition

Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 6:00- 9:00 PM in Ballroom A

Join us for a board game night and FREE coffee! We will have classic games like; Monopoly, Scrabble, and UNO, as well as some international games such as; Pachisi, Sanet, Mancala, and more!
