Gilman Scholarship Deadline

The Gilman Scholarship is an incredible opportunity to receive up to $5000 for your study abroad experience. Applicants must be in good academic standing, a citizen of the United States, and a recipient of the Pell Grant. Applications are due soon so make sure to get yours in before the deadline. 


IEEC Afternoon at Scandia Recap

The IEEC went to Scandia last Friday and had an amazing time! Students were able to mini-golf, take go-karts for a ride, and play arcade games. IEEC will be hosting even more amazing outings around Sonoma County this semester so don’t miss out on future events! There will also be plenty of fun activities on campus so make sure you follow @ssustudyaway on Instagram to stay up to date! 

 

NSE Campus Highlight: Queen’s College, CUNY

Spend a term in one of the most famous places on earth; New York City! Queen’s College, CUNY is located in NYC, only 20 minutes from Manhattan. You will be central to amazing restaurants, famous sites, and part of the most ethnically diverse county in the USA. Queen’s consistently ranks highly in numerous categories for American colleges and offers dozens of majors such as Urban Planning, Music Theory, and Islamic Studies. The deadline for NSE’s priority placement is March 1st, so make sure to set up a meeting with Hope Ortiz through LoboConnect as soon as possible. 

 

CSU Ecotourism Course in Kenya

CSU San Bernardino is offering a study away course this summer for all SSU students, particularly those majoring in Supply Chain, Hospitality, Management, Marketing, or Communications. This 14-day course will focus on Supply Chain Management and Eco Businesses and gives students the opportunity to visit incredible national parks and African animal centers. Make sure to apply as soon as possible as the deadline is coming up quickly! 

 

Coffee & Culture - United Kingdom Edition

March 3, 2022, 12-1 PM International Hall

Make sure you don’t miss out on this semester’s Coffee & Culture meetings! As students get ready to study abroad, IEEC will be hosting hour-long get-togethers based on various places students will be heading to. The first event features the United Kingdom and you won’t want to miss out! Come play a fun game of trivia (prizes include popular treats from England), have some coffee, and talk to SSU’s international students from the UK! 

 

IEEC Safari West Adventure

Trip date moved to April 8th, 2022

Don’t miss your chance to join the IEEC for a trip to one of Sonoma County’s most amazing locations! Safari West is an animal preserve unlike any other on the West Coast, where you can see nearly 90 different species on a Jeep tour of their 400-acre park. We will also be having lunch on-site, where you can dine while having an incredible view of the animals. This is generally a $135 value but SSU students who sign up will only have to pay a $40 non-refundable deposit. Spaces are very limited so make sure to sign up as soon as possible. See the hours listed below for when you can drop by International Hall 107 and pay your deposit!

CSU IP has extended the application deadline for 12 different countries! It’s not too late to apply to study away for Fall or the upcoming school year. CSU IP offers the ability to study in dozens of locations and there are opportunities for every major.
