THAR 300: Shakespeare in London

SSU and Performing Arts Abroad have collaborated to create a 12 day version of THAR 300 in London. We go see shows, study Shakespeare, tour Shakespeare’s London, visit museums, and have a great time in one of the world’s most amazing theatre cities. No prior theatre experience required. This will be our third trip!

Students will receive upper division GE (area C1) for this course. The trip will pack in 40 hours worth of intensive exposure to Shakespeare’s works and times. Our ongoing discussions will help deepen critical thinking and develop understanding of contemporary performance in relation to history, society and culture. Whether the students are Theatre majors, English majors or just ready for a dive into the 16th century, this trip will be a once in a lifetime experience. Participants will meet international students and theatre practitioners. They’ll bring home an enriched appreciation of Shakespeare, dramatic literature and what goes into the mounting of professional theatrical productions.

CCJS 375: Criminal Justice in Greece

This course provides an in-depth examination of selected topics and issues in criminal justice. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the modern criminal justice system where it all began, in Greece! Spend two weeks in Athens visiting significant historical sites, such as Areios Pagos, the most ancient law court of the world, and the Pnyx, where the citizens of ancient Athens used to assemble and exert their democratic rights. Students will also get to visit the Kotsanas Museum of Ancient Greek Technology, the Panathinaiko-Stadium, the New Acropolis Museum, and spend a day on the Mediterranean island of Agistri!

National Student Exchange

With National Student Exchange (NSE), SSU students are able to attend another university in the United States or Canada for a semester, year, or summer. What began with just three institutions exchanging seven students has grown into a premier network of colleges and universities exchanging 2,000 students annually throughout the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More than 118,000 students have taken advantage of collegiate study away through NSE and new adventures begin daily.

Bilateral Exchange

Bilateral Exchange programs are SSU partnerships with foreign universities that allow us to exchange students as a part of their degree. Students will continue to pay their home university tuition and fees while on the program, and pay food, housing, and other personal expenses while studying abroad. Students can view program locations, requirements, deadlines, and other important information by visiting the application website. For any questions please email Hope Ortiz.

As shown in the Fair, the University of Leeds is one partner in this program. The University of Leeds, established in 1904, is one of the largest higher education institutions in the UK.
